I spent Sunday morning meeting residents having their breakfast at Boon Lay Place Food Village with Leong Mun Wai and Progress Singapore Party volunteers. As always, we distributed our Palm newsletter which highlights two schemes that we proposed in Parliament in February – the Affordable Homes Scheme and the Millennial Apartments Scheme.
Singapore is facing a long-standing problem, with our low Total Fertility Rate affecting the economy, the make-up of our social fabric, social support for the elderly, and national defence. Many young Singaporeans have also voiced out that they want their own homes before starting a family. So why is the Government not taking more decisive steps to address this?
